Biography

Patryk Rynkiewicz is a trumpeter who uses the language of jazz and improvised music. Fascinated by the wide range of trumpet sounds, he eagerly employs all possible means of musical creation. He often combines the deep acoustic sound of the trumpet with broadly defined electronics, drawing inspiration from the later works of Miles Davis, Nils Petter Molvær, and Arve Henriksen. Patryk is mainly known in the Poznań jazz community and in recent years has been involved in projects such as Skalpel Big Band, Anomalia, Plondra, Ulyanica, Unleashed Cooperation. He is permanently associated with the Academy of Music in Poznań, where, as part of his doctoral studies, he conducts research on ethnic influences in the development of jazz trumpet playing techniques. His artistic achievements include performances at festivals such as Nisville Jazz Festival, Jazz HR Festival, Jazz Factory Festival, Jazz nad Odrą, Jazz Juniors, Męskie Granie, OFF Festival, and Woodstock Festival.
